The minimum flow regulating valve, also known as the boiler feed pump recirculation valve, is installed at the outlet of the feed water pump in a power plant and connects to the deaerator. The boiler feed water pump draws water from the deaerator and sends it to the boiler. To prevent overheating of the feed water pump and cavitation, the flow rate of the feed water pump must never be less than a certain specified safety flow rate, that is, the minimum flow rate.
